HBCU CARES proudly participated in the 2025 Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Annual Legislative Conference, hosting a series of impactful events that highlighted the organization’s growing influence and commitment to Historically Black Colleges, Universities, and Community Colleges (HBCUs/HBCCs).

The highlight of the week was the HBCU CARES President’s Reception, themed Connect • Collaborate • Catalyze, held at the Salamander Hotel. This gathering brought together HBCU presidents, corporate and industry leaders, policymakers, and advocates from across the nation. The event provided a powerful platform for strengthening partnerships and celebrating the collective progress of HBCUs and HBCCs.

In addition to the reception, HBCU CARES hosted the panel discussion From Legacy to Leadership: Propelling Alabama HBCUs Through Innovation, Investment & Public Policy, featuring distinguished Alabama Presidents such as Dr. Daniel K. Wims of Alabama A&M University, Dr. Cynthia Anthony of Lawson State Community College, Dr. Bobbie Knight of Miles College, and Dr. Quintion Ross of Alabama State University. The conversation centered on innovation, workforce development, and sustainable investment in HBCUs.
