Brittany A. Holloman, Ph.D

Dr. Brittany A. Holloman, a native of Darlington, South Carolina, is a dynamic higher education administrator, hope dealer, mentor, champion for women, and disruptor of norms. With an unwavering passion for student success and community empowerment, she currently serves as the Executive Director and CEO of HBCU CARES, where she brings a wealth of experience and innovative leadership to support historically Black colleges and communities.


Prior to her current role, Dr. Holloman served as Chief of Staff at Allen University, providing executive-level leadership and strategic oversight across institutional operations. Her tenure was marked by a commitment to organizational effectiveness, cross-departmental collaboration, and advancing the university’s mission.


She also served as Associate Vice President for Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator at Talladega College, where she led transformative initiatives in athletics, compliance, and student engagement, fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the field.


Earlier in her career, Dr. Holloman served as Interim Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Judicial Appeals at Alabama A&M University (AAMU), where she played a pivotal role in enhancing student life, support services, and campus judicial processes. Her impact at AAMU extended further through roles as Adjunct Instructor, Program Coordinator, and Executive Assistant to the President, contributing meaningfully to both academic and operational functions.


Dr. Holloman began her career at her beloved alma mater, Stillman College, where she played a key role in student enrollment and retention—laying the foundation for her lifelong commitment to educational equity.


Academically, she earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Stillman College, a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) with a concentration in Environmental Planning from Alabama A&M University, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Urban Higher Education from
Jackson State University. Her doctoral research explored the influence of residential learning communities on the academic success and persistence of first-generation college students.


Beyond her professional roles, Dr. Holloman is the Founder and CEO of The Holloman Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life for young women and men by closing the achievement gap through education and service. The foundation empowers youth through access, opportunity, mentorship, and meaningful community engagement.

 

She also curates a lifestyle brand through her blog, As Told by Bee, and is the host of Brunch with Brittany, a signature networking series that fosters authentic connections among millennial professionals.
