The HBCU CARES Innovators Fellowship & Legacy Launchpad—powered by Innovate Alabama—is a year-long entrepreneurship and innovation pipeline designed to prepare students to become bold entrepreneurs, tech leaders, and changemakers. Fellows will participate in weekly 2-hour virtual sessions focused on entrepreneurial mindset, business development, financial literacy, customer service, branding, legal structures, technology, and innovation. Through mentorship, training, and one-on-one advising, fellows will develop their business ideas into actionable ventures. The program culminates in a statewide pitch competition, where the winning venture will receive seed funding to support its launch. Applicants must be enrolled at one of HBCU CARES’ Alabama member institutions. Students may apply individually or as part of a team (up to 5 members).
